My Shinki Ventura is like that as well as my Aero 50's HBD. There's a "pattern" to the panels, and I like it.
JC put some heavier panels on the back of the arms that get more wear on the elbows. I would wager it was on purpose and I like the way the different panels are aging honestly.
I wonder if you could do a deer/elk skin backing? That would be cool, but maybe the difference in the hides would be wonky.
I think it would be comfortable for sure, and need no break-in.

I think Thedi has a green that looks great - if my old brain is working. I too love the idea. I was pretty hot on a natural, but not sure. Dark blue/dark green would be killer. Green even more so.
Mine is a NOS 80's Spiewak. In all other measurements, it's freakin' awesome. So I put up with the length and shockingly, I got a ton of compliments on it over the Xmas break. Then again, it could have been people being sarcastic :p
