That Wild Jerry is pretty cool. If I were younger, I could do that maybe.
Oddly, I was pondering another one of those CockpitUSA "Sun Faded" MA-1's in red - I got the blue one and love it.
I think this one is what I want. If it will fit me.
Awesome @Stand By - thank you! I would not consider a patched rev so I'm happy they seem to have cleaned it up.
I don't mind wearing an homage, but patched, no.
I love all the dev/skunkworks type stuff, and the jackets are really exciting me right now. I think that if the one above will fit me...
I'm telling you, this is the jacket (similar to the one I just got) that changed me from leather (for now) to "nylon" jackets.
I think I'm getting the red MA-1 below because I just love the whole deal (sans the cost maybe).
Nice to see you dove right in with those 1892s! You got them already? That's crazy. I'm still seeing "shipping on the 18th".
But since I have others, I'll try to be patient.
Good post - we were just talking about the expense and intent of such things and that we're all playing dress up (or...
I've seen some. As a completely separate product, I did see some that I thought were cool - albeit for young guys. I like seeing Mil inspired clothes, even if they are by "our" standards, meh. They at least seem to allow younger folks to appreciate our stuff based on the comments I get on...
@HPA Rep - can you give me more guidance on the red MA-1? I'm a 47/48 and tall. Would you recommend a 2XL or XL?
Are there other MA-1 or similar variants available in this size? I'd like to compare to some others...I dig the red and the story.
I had a huge hangup forever on getting an MA-1 style jacket due to the ties with the assorted groups we have discussed here.
I got the CWP-45 Spiewak and I've gotten more compliments (odd as it's way short on me) than almost any jacket I own.
That said, if I shaved my head or liked Doc Marten's...
There's lots of work wear that is affordable still - just not posted up on instagram or forums - Dickies, Carhartt, etc.
"Work wear" is a fashion niche - and often expensive one.
I love it, but having family from the most blue of blue collars roots, I sometimes feel really conflicted spending...
Hey there Big J, maybe this page will help you with your questions on the sizing concerns over the DD jackets.
Seems to me it's not exact, and even the guys here will have some deviations. Imagine?
This sounds like a pretty nice jacket. And look at that price - inline with other's non-leather...
Plenty of us buy jackets that we "really want" and find that:
Design just doesn't look good on me.
Numbers seller gave for size were wrong.
Jacket too heavy/light
Jacket color not what it looked like in pics.
Who cares why? Is there some cultism to this as well J? LOL
Yep. Two I regret today - esp after looking at pics. One was a second GW Ventura in black Shinki. The other, an Aero A-2 from @Fanch. The rest I felt good passing on, and many I donated (new) which was a good feeling. Now, my closet is the skinniest it's ever been for leather jackets. This...
I bought a pair of sneakers last week for fun after this thread. Got them to match my two Woolrich shirts both in the same pattern, but one heavy wool, one cotton flannel.
They're cool, and I'll see how I feel wearing them.
