I haven't seen many people wearing these either.
Nothing against the jacket, but I don't think this is my style. I like a jacket to be all wool, or all leather, on the outside. There's very few two-tone looks that do it for me, and I'm not sure why that is.
For me, a wool could have...
I don't know that much about the original Beck jackets. They seem to be pretty well regarded among vintage collectors. There are reproductions of the 666 made by Toys McCoy, which I really like the look of, especially the leather they are working with is just gorgeous. The shoulder gussets...
Vanson Gambler, exclusive through Thurston Bros. It's the same shell as the Raid, but with some nicer leather options and lining options that would let you keep the softer, more upscale aesthetic that you want.
Used elmc is great, but they come up rarely.
What makes you think that?
I've had some dye rub off the topcoat onto light colored fabric with a brand new jacket, but it didn't persist very long, and washed out easily.
5 years ago was right around the time Vanson lost the old supplier of comp weight leather, so it's a good bet that it's some of the last of the original stuff. Snap it up.
According to the emails I got from Vanson recently, they're quite busy, not dead. Kim replied to me about 3-4 days after I first wrote, and thereafter was responding same day or next day. I'm expecting some leather swatches from her. They seem to be doing well...
(Albeit, there's still some...
I'm not calling anyone out, and I don't have anything against The Flat Head. I haven't seen one of theirs in person, but they do look good.
I think you did imply something about Langlitz's craftsmanship, comparing it to THF as lesser - - unwarranted if you have any knowledge of Langlitz. The...
LOL, Langlitz is in no way inferior to Japanese craftsmanship. Just look at what used Langlitz sell for in Japan. They're more expensive than new Freewheelers or Flat Head in many cases. The grass is always greener.
Everyone is talking about Vanson, but I see the Flat Head taking inspiration directly from the Langlitz Cascade. Which is already such a good jacket that I can hardly imagine that Flat Head has any improvement on it.
It'd be a different story, I think, if the artwork were done by a known comic book artist, particularly if they had a special connection with Batgirl. Perhaps if Batgirl had wider appeal, I suppose it would help. The painting itself isn't poorly done, but I don't think Batgirl has a big...
I don't doubt that they function just fine. I just don't like the way they look. There's plenty of motorcycle gear with vents where they look good, integrated and blended into the design in a way that is attractive and stylish.
The Perfecto style jacket with extra zippers near the armpits just...
I've been looking for that same Toys McCoy's Beck 666 in size 44, and saw this come up weeks ago, and I passed on it. It's not any cheaper than a new unpainted one. I don't like the artwork, and I wouldn't value it at any less than $-950.00. Meaning if the jacket were only $50-150, I'd consider...
