I also like the jacket pattern, but don't care for the artwork.
In general I like things like that if they are true customizations, and when they are mass produced it takes away from the uniqueness.
If this was a unique painting, I still wouldn't care for it. It seems like something that...
I've never priced this, but I know artists who do commission work, and they're not cheap. They are constantly being lowballed or asked to work for free, and it's insulting to waste their time. If you are negotiating with an artist and you don't like their rates, you can make a counter offer and...
I've applied Pecard to stiff CXL and saw it soften up considerably, becoming much more pliable after.
Beyond that, simple wear -- flexing the leather where it needs to bend. This takes more time. Pecard can help accelerate it.
Nothing extreme about it, really.
I managed to score one of these Freewheelers Bridgeport vests on Yahoo! Auctions Japan, and it was delivered a few minutes ago. Am very happy with the fit and quality.
I didn't expect that I'd be able to find one of these so quickly, and in my size, so when it appeared on the auction site a...
Aero just put these images up on their Instagram/Facebook feed, showing the aging of a natural CXL J-106 that might look familiar to longtime TFL readers:
I think the squared-off tips on the epaulets look Lesco-ish, but the rest of the jacket is different enough from the Lescos that I've seen that I wouldn't be confident identifying it as such.
I've never heard of Tripp before, but maybe Tripp is Tripp? It might just be a lesser known brand...
He also doesn't care, because the fake Aero was relisted, and so far ebay hasn't taken it down this time.
I'm sure some of his stuff is legit, but if he's knowingly selling fakes along with real items, I wouldn't recommend buying anything from him.
You can also coat the entire jacket in duct tape, which will add a protective layer and help to prevent scrapes and scratches from ruining the top coat.
It's absolutely typical of what around here we call a "mall jacket" - - the sort of thing that you could find off the rack at your typical shopping mall. Not a high end or custom item.
The leather is almost certainly cowhide, but it could be calf or even sheep skin. If you read up on the...
For your goals with this, I think you got a good 90% of what you wanted, or surely at least 80%. And for $80. That's a homerun any day of the week. If you still intend to go forward with the custom project, you can use the jacket to inform design and sizing choices, and get even closer to what...
