Interesting, two Minnesota store labels. The Westerner label is odd. Trade Mark, but no r for registered, Horse-Hide? never seen written like that. Remind me of Durables in the Durable thread, fine leather, unique styling.
Great collection of Alaskans! All magnificent jackets, unique in many ways. The only similar back is on these Blocks. They are so unlike other makers they must have been a company and not a label? Even the lining is unique. Canadian?
Anyone buy this beauty? Someone did well on this one.

A California Sportswear jacket. I typically think of this label as late 40s. The zipper pull is 50s and appears to be the original zipper. I would guess the stop box has Talon down the middle. This was a common transition set-up. The Talon was dropped from the stop box and the pull became...
Yes I have slimmed down, from 184 to current 168. I feel much better at this weight, just healthier. This is marked a 40 and wears a little bigger. The sleeves are narrow so difficult to wear more than a shirt. I plan to wear more vest. I'm probably not a 40, but it wears well. Interesting...
These two arrived from Switzerland today. Shipped on Monday, arrived on Saturday!
I believe you have met both jackets through their previous owner. @58panheadfan
I will have some fun comparing these beauties to some vintage jackets.
Thanks to @58panheadfan
for an easy/pleasant transaction
My mistake. I would say that it is a private label. I should have paid more attention. I was born in Indianapolis. I believe I have heard this name. Thanks for the clarification. This still gives an indication of LA Sport producing jackets for private labels. Makes LA Sport a more...
Interesting find. Thanks for posting. Few Levi leathers appear. Ken at Aero told me Levi did not make all their leather jackets. This is pretty solid evidence they did not. They do not claim to be the maker. Never seen this label.
Spiegel Aviator just arrived. Spiegel jackets are the biggest mystery in my world of leather jackets. This is late 1940s, no leather tag, but i belive it is Horsehide. Ever Spiegel I own is larger than their label size. This one is labeled a 38, yet it fits bigger.
Interesting how the Wool jackets are advertised by weight. I can feel the difference when handling them. The heaviest I assume are the 33 ounce and they are stiff. I don't have a opportunity to handle new wool jackets, but hard to imagine they are the quality of this wool.
I have a collection of wool jackets and don't worry about the original zipper. This jacket could well have a Sunrise Talon zipper as original. These are hard to find. You know it is from the early 40s.
I have a similar jacket. If you follow the below link to my youtube channel I recently...
Here is your jacket in the 1940 Sears catalog. Advertised as 29 inches long, there is another model that is 27 long. The upper pockets are a bit of a hold over from the longer heavier wool jackets of the era. I see part of the label that also reminds me of the Giant label. This label was...
