Two Pocket Roughwear, Admiral Byrd label. Dated April 1940 with the two way pocket patent number.
I have this style jacket in leather and wool. they are my favorite style. RW tweaked this chassis to produce several variations. Missing pocket flap and the side adjustments have been removed.
This has a removed patch in the badge area. Some modification of the belt loops, sleeves may have been shortened. A most interesting back design. This one I do believe is Steerhide.
The collar from the jacket above also fits this guy.
This police jacket has a Laskinlamb collar. The nicest collar I have own. It fits both of my Block police jackets.
This one is dated 1940. No leather tag. This could be Bay Area Steerhide like Ralphs-Pugh used. I have not doubt the second police jacket is in this Steerhide.
This is a mid 50s Hercules made by Roughwear Clothing Co. The Horsehide tag and construction are the clues. It will not have the feel of a new Aero horsehide. This was a "fashion" jacket, not intended to be heavy leather.
I own this same jacket several years ago. It has an unusual back...
You sorta got luck starting with your jacket. These are difficult to find and cost accordingly. I get inquiries every time I post a pic. They are my favorite in the wools. Just hard to find.
