What a magnificent jacket! Who were these guys ? Never seen a Durable with less that magnificent leather. Look through this thread.
California Store label is interesting, but makes sense. The Durable label/maker is the biggest mystery in leather jackets. To me, a mystery that the Wild...
Impressive jacket and and review! I like the Cal Mfg. label, one of my favorites. I seen very few vintage jackets by this label. They were right in the center of jacket excellence, Bay Area. I'm curious why more do show up.
So many great designs came from this area. They were the...
It is a unique pattern. I have to watch myself looking at the Vintage Wools. So many great looking garments and not often expensive. The same with Vest. There are so many cool vest for not a lot of $. Easy to accumulate a nice pile.
One of my favorite post war jackets. I've seen a for sale here and I always hesitated, not sure why. An interesting mix of features, Aviator style, half-belt, fur collar, the cuffs.

The Talon zipper on my jacket and yours are original. This Talon came out around...

Uber of Minnesota, W.B. Place Hartford...

Restitching a loose label is not unheard of, but I don't see the lining wear that would indicate...
I certainly would have purchased this jacket. I'm looking forward to the tale of the tape, size 40 or 42!
To me, the size on this jacket would be somewhat irrelevant.
No doubt, by style and price, an early 1930s jacket.
Shanhouse of Rockford. Illinois is known for this jacket style, I belive...
