Glover of Dubuque, Iowa. I have a couple of other Glover jackets. They were a high quality outerwear maker. This one looks very interesting and in fine condition. Always amazed to find a jacket like this for thrift store prices!
What little "new" wool I have seen does not compare with these 40s jackets. They came in a large variety of colors and weights. I'm no expert of wool, but they sure are warm.
I'm more comfortable wearing a wool jacket inside than a leather one. I could layer quite easily under this wool...
Here are some pics for finding the dare code on grommet zipper assemblies.
This is the zipper pull side
Hard to see without a camera. The letter indicates month of the year. The E represents the 5th letter of the alphabet and the 5th month of the year. The single number is the year.

I like reversible jackets. They are hard to find. I have a couple.
This is Capeskin, one of the most popular leathers used in the 30s and 40s. Very delicate, hence few survive in top condition.
Here is your second chance at this Bison Hide jacket. Don't delay.
I always buy a Jacket or Jackets for my Birthday. This year the Rainbow Country Bison and the Freewheelers Brakeman. I had no doubt they would both meet my expectations, the Brakeman will remain. I have nothing wearable like...
Buck Skein labels show up the Sears catalog for several years. The brand was independent of Sears, as I see it. I've seen many with this label, but yet to own one.
There is an interesting Vest with their label on ebay, but too small for me. It was wool and leather.
This Boys jacket has the sunrise grommet zipper, no doubt late 30s, early 40s. Young mens fashion often imitated the adult jackets, just a smaller size. This style, from this era is a difficult item to find.
This image is from the 1945 catalog. The first mention of Boysville is 1944
An odd, interesting jacket. It has the markings of a 1930s jacket, the main Talon and the Ball and chain pocket zipper. Never heard of this label. I'm not sure what type of leather? All the French seams are also interesting.
I just discovered dates on the grommet zipper assembly. They have a month and year code like the Sunrise zippers. The markings on the grommet are tiny but should be there. I will post a picture of where it is located.
I have seen this Borman label. We also know that Roughwear used this label. And another unknown? I though this labels was owned by Roughwear. Interesting development.
