No clue about the fabric.
As for ink on leather, the stain of the ink can be all but impossible to remove, if the leather is light colored, you're pretty screwed. If the leather is black, then the ink may not show very well, and may only be apparent when the light reflects off the jacket at...
I've never seen one. It looks like a slightly oversized Enfield or Oxford. I'm not entirely sure how they call this a chore coar/barn coat pattern, because to me it still looks like a Model B, just relaxed fit and slightly long.
I can't blame you for being suspicous, as the design IS radically different from anything I've ever seen from Aero.
The description mentions that the seller asked Ken Calder about it, who said that only 3-4 examples were produced as a prototype. So if that story is true, it is definitely THAT...
Never heard of them before, but I love the wild reinterpretations of classic styles. They seem to have injected a mixture of SoCal chicano and blaxploitation. I'd expect to see them worn in a reboot of Breaking Bad or a Tarantino film set in modern L.A. Fun stuff for sure. Pricey and I can't...
Probably. I think it's still Aero's recommendation to buy your tag size, but many people seem to prefer to size down. With your tag size I expect you can wear it over a bulky sweater, but over a t-shirt it might seem a bit loose.
Generally the Highwayman is a boxy fit. You can size down with it and many people do. Some will size down as many as two sizes (eg a person with a 46" chest might size down to a 44 or 42, depending on the desired fit.) I find that I can go down 1 size and 2 is a tight fit that I can't wear...
I'm not aware of any actual criminality, but they did a clearance sale on their remaining inventory, and I don't think they're going to restock. The part about stealing the pattern for the Black Stallion is more or less accurate. They had a different maker produce a new run, snubbing Schott and...
Probably both. Plus this is primarily a vintage style forum, and while we talk about leather jackets a lot, reptile leather isn't exactly classic golden era fashion.
I have a jacket made in the first batch. It has aged to a flat darker brown shade of brown. So you should be aware that what you start out with is not exactly what you're going to end up with.
TRD Leather Motorcycle Jacket 46
Back patch kinda spoils what's otherwise one hell of a rugged looking jacket.

Vanson Competition Weight leather is specced for 1.5mm thickness, but due to natural variation I expect it could be a tenth of a millimeter off, or so. So 1.6mm/4oz sounds about right.
