Nice I haven't seen that before, I like it. Of course, that depends on how elliptical the hat happens to be when the measurement is taken; I would imagine it's fairly close. But to accurately give the hat size, a circumference has to be accurate to at least 3/8", which is less than 2% of a 22"... -

I have finally found a vintage bowler in a size that fits me - 7 3/4!
Nice I barely even look on ebay anymore, there's almost never anything in 7-3/4. That bowler looks pretty much the cats pyjamas - if you don't care for it once it arrives, I volunteer to take it off your hands for cost plus - I'd love to have a bowler for formal dress a few times a year in NYC... -

The Dumbest Comment I Ever Heard
Yesterday wearing a Joe Fedora - that's a polypro hat woven to look like Milan straw fedora, it even has a chin strap over the back of the brim - I got "Hey Godfather". This is from someone old enough to remember when hats were daily wear. Yeesh. -

Some bad news (now getting better!)
Art: I smoked for 20+ years and quit in 2000. As my wife will attest, I was a crabby pain in the ass for at least 9 months. Milan Mania
My Stetson Milan is quite stiff. If you crushed it, I think it would be destroyed, but it is pretty strong. It is also a fairly hot hat - the polypro hat I just got feels much cooler. I don't have a Panama, so can't compare them directly, but they look cooler FWIW.
