That's good to hear - there seems to be a sizable population of 7-3/4 heads on the lounge. What brim width is that on the prototype? It's been my observation that light-colored hats appear bigger, so work well with more modest brim dimensions than on a dark hat. This is my sly way of saying...
A beautiful brown sportscoat! I spent a large part of Saturday looking in vain for such a three-button tweed sportscoat in NYC, with no luck.
Brooks Bros had only one three-button to offer, and it was not a good color. No place else I tried even had a three-button coat on offer, tweed or not...
Tell me Ken, was this the last thing you remember seeing before your hat wound up looking like that?
I do like the bash quite a bit, I'm just sayin'...
I agree with most of the comments re: color and styling alterations - particularly horizontal pocket flaps.
But what's up with the wrinkling around the fly? The fabric is not lying properly on the stage-right side of the fly.
Per HATCO (in a thread that is here on the Lounge somewhere but I'm too lazy to look for it), the Roadmaster is just an OR in natural color rather than Silverbelly, with much less stiffener in the felt. The felt grade, dimensions and factory crease of the two are the same. The OR hasn't been...
In a tough market, the box will be a deal sweetener. I agree with the poster above - why not offer the pair here for what you paid, plus shipping and a 'not-bad-karma-inducing' markup if you want, give it a week or two and see what happens.
I have this hat from Bencraft in dark brown (Cordoba, I think it's called) and it's a great lid - I receive many compliments on it. FWIW, it was picked out by my wife, so has the spousal seal of approval.
That looks like a good choice for a starting point. The New Yorker looks almost identical to the Stetson Ashland, which is exactly the same as the Chatham or Downs but with a 2-1/4" underwelt brim. So if the size and shape works out well for you, you can tell her you're picking up a New Yorker...
I've been wearing ECCO Berlin boots for the past year and a half. I walk a lot in the city and they work well with suits, which I wear much of the time. They're pretty amazingly comfortable, and have room inside for orthotics, which I use every day. I have both black and brown and they get...
OH, gotcha, it took a while to get through the fog of the internets. This conversation would clearly have gone much smoother if our right feet were perched on a brass rail somewhere, with happy hour approaching.
Well, the product linked to in Post #3 was a cowboy hat cover. The OP specifically asked for a clear plastic fedora cover, which is what I linked to. In light of Post #1 below, I thought I was answering the question directly.
I see GT has already leapt to my defense - thanks for that....
That's certainly one way to start. I've cycled through 3 wool hats that I've since given away. I did enjoy each in its own way for a time, but I do not miss them.
Well, I see no one has answered the original post, so I'll do it, here is the fedora hat cover:

And no, I certainly would never contemplate wearing one - I'd prefer to maintain my dignity, destroy my hat, and so have an excuse to buy a...
The Chatham is definitely a good place to start - it has a moderate crown at a bit over 4" at the pinch, and a perfectly moderate brim at 2-3/8".
Later on, if you tend to wider brims like GTDean, then the Chatham will become your stingy lid.
If you gravitate to the smaller brims like me, then...
For online shopping, the return policy is key. Village Hat Shop and Noggintops both pay for shipping when exchanging a hat - you only pay to return the hat to them - this is a fantastic policy.
