Laureate Fedora prototype

[Matt Deckard]

I'm renaming the style and calling it the Laureate.

There is no powder in this felt so no discoloration or color rubbing off should occur. The felt is all beaver and has as little stiffener as possible. Over time it should make for a nice soft companion of a hat.

Russet colored roan leather sweatband and white satin liner as usual.

This is the prototype. More info to come as time goes by.

I think this would be fantastic - a 2-1/4" brim would seem to be very 1930s to me.

Agreed. I've narrowed down my ideal brim length to between 2 1/8 - 2 3/8ths. Anything more or less doesn't look as flattering on me.

That is a very nice looking hat! As little stiffener as possible and all beaver is the perfect combination IMO!
