This is a great idea - I have a nice badger brush that I never use for shaving. I just tried it out and it does a perfect job on recessed tear drop crowns, and is easier to get into the brim break than a regular brim brush. I've been meaning to buy a crown brush like the ones I've seen used at...
I would guess that they are in the range of 2-3/4 to 3 inches wide, respectively. Just a guess, though.
I was interested in some Magnoli ties but was concerned about the length - I emailed him and he got back to me right away with the dimensions.
If you don't mind paying a premium for quality...
Scout felt hat stiffener is one product - I've never used it so can't comment on how often to use it. But I believe you only use stiffener as needed. Here's one source (of many):

On Friday, we went to Bencraft and my wife bought me a new Whippet in Caribou - I've worn it every day since:

Went to Bencraft on Friday and picked out my Christmas present from the missus - a new Whippet in Caribou. The Sovereign felt is nicely pliable, a little thinner than my old Chatham, but pretty dense. Fit and finish is good, the Caribou on this hat is almost dove-gray, without the brown...
Someone else here on the lounge essayed a guess that the 'drawings' in the catalog are actually photographs run through photoshop to make them look like drawings. From my experience with items received, I believe this is true, and the 'drawings' generally do an acceptable job. I'd still like to...
Nice coat - looks to be knee length. If you had to guess, what size is it? It appears to fit you well, what size jacket do you wear, if you don't mind my asking?
Dr., that Stetson Highway is a nice lid - a google search turned up this post on the Akubra Overload thread - see post 2542 by Rick Blaine:

Based on the lining, it looks like his is newer.
^^^ I'm right there with you on this one. As an engineer, I like to have equipment as fail-safe as possible. I gladly trade away the cordless feature to enjoy a phone that is completely reliable because it has a cord and external power source. I would just misplace a cordless phone anyway....
This thread reminds me - when I moved to NYC in the late 70s to go to college, I met a girl from MA. She happened to be wearing a woman's letter sweater from my HS in Renton, Washington. Incredibly, the name embroidered inside happened to be a friend of my mother who was in the same class in the...
^^^ Interesting note in Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bedford_cord
It says: "A water-repellent cotton version of Bedford cord called Jungle Cloth was used by the U.S. Navy for flight clothing during the 1920s-1940s era."
That sounds like it would be perfect for motorcycle riding.
