Great find! Since the liner logo is not more colorful, I wonder if maybe we're looking at possibly late 1950's? I've bot studied the appropriate threads closely though.

yes the iphone camera does wander through the colours a bit, it's a dark grey, probably the top pic is closest...
as to age, it may well have been made in the 50's but it must have sat on the shelf for a while because our currency didn't go to the $ until 1966.
I know the shop it came from well, my grandmother used to take me there about 50 years ago, and it was a large country town department store, so it's possible I suppose, perhaps it was deadstock left over when they sold out

Sounds like it could also have been another Akubra made Stetson back when Akubra made Stetson's under license for sale in Australia Any other tags showing country of origin on it ?
