Great thread as I'm getting ready to head to New York on Friday :D
I usually roll up and try to pack light. I tend to under-pack since I know I will probably end up wearing the same things a few times in a row, and if I need to I can always launder clothes (I always pack extra underwear and...
I am currently using a vintage purse and a vintage camera bag for work but I find that the camera bag is too small if I want to carry my larger lens with it, and it doesn't fit a notebook or my tablet. So Monday I'm treating myself to this bag (with my birthday money!)
Keri is a local-to-me...
Today I was covering an event celebrating my city in 1911 and I got lots of funny comments. I was told i looked 20s, 40s and 50s, that my hair looked so nice it had to be a wig (I took that as a compliment) and had a nice chat with some older ladies about the pains they went through for beauty...
I certainly perfer the Canadian version - the Caesar, made with Clamato juice (that's tomato and clam juice) instead of straight tomato, it really gives it quite the extra oomph. Add a pickled asparagus or a hot pickled jalapeno... delicious! I like mine extra-spicy.
Hells yeah Tommy D! (Sorry, that's the Saskatchewan in me talking).
Back home in my small town things seem to be changing a lot. My sister was discussing on Facebook about how bad it is - you can't schedule something in advance unless it's a pre-op. Instead, you call the day of at 9am and hope...
Kate was also fighting to keep her dress down - maybe they were scared that they hats would take off? (which the more snobby Canadians would think just as horrible, I'm sure).
OT: *waves from Alberta to JohnnyCanuck.
Here's a photo collage from the National Post:
I loved the outfit fourth from the left - so stunning!
As someone who wasn't really around when Diana was alive, I don't understand the comparisons. She's her own person - who never knew Diana - and I'm sure W&K hate it.
My only wish for this...
Bought some new (FREE) specs from ClearlyContacts.ca!
The glasses were free (originally $88) and I only had to pay for shipping, insurance, lens coating etc, which totaled to $66.
I'm very pleased with them :D It's hard to tell in the photos, but they're tortoise shell and pink with...
We did a breakfast theme last week: Oatmeal stout, maple porter and a smoked bacon beer. Coffee beer is coming up on the agenda soon :D
You are from Quebec, aren't you? I know Crabbies is hard to find outside the UK, I'm shocked I could find it in Alberta. If I ever visit Quebec again I'll...
Fruli is one of my faves, BlackDahlia! In my native Saskatchewan it's also only $2 - cheaper than pop!
I've really been digging Crabbie's Ginger Beer lately, it's so perfect for summer. It has a very strong ginger taste, so beware!
I'm also a beer blogger and we're on the look out for...
I bought my first real vintage item! I picked this 1960s dress up at my local vintage shop for $35 today. It fits like a dream and now I need something fancy to wear it out to.
Although I highly doubt it, he also could have been a Jehovah's Witness. They have been known (or, at least in my grandmother's parents' case) to not Pledge Allegiance or rise for the national anthem. Of course, I don't really think that was the answer, it's just a though.
I agree that it's...
I was told I looked like a pin-up the other day :D Not only that, but a co-worker later told me that the lady who said it rarely gives compliments, so I must have made quite an impact.
Love the hair RodeoRose! It will feel so nice and light for summer, I'm sure.
Yes, I meant Making Faces. I have Face Forward as well. Both great books for learning about anything and everything in the makeup world!
