I mostly intend to use it to repair the lower tear, which has created a flap of leather that when pressed down makes it look invisible, and I think it can can be glued without being seen., the larger upper one is a bit of a pickle and I'll probably just leave it.
My interest in half-belts was inspired by pics of James excellent Aero. After looking the last few weeks, I stumbled upon this one in Toronto just today, made of front quarter horsehide, with a chocolate bar style conmar zip. The size tag is inside the sleeve strangely enough, tagged 48. The...
Small sized original ANJ-4 Size 38R. Its in good wearable shape, in no danger of falling apart from wear. That being said, its not perfect by any means. Has old looking repairs and patches on the back and front of the jacket, and a couple small holes which are pictured. Other than these issue...
Thats a shame about the sizing, my first B-2 was a 7 1/8 and was too small, so I went the next size up for the Irvin cap and it fit perfectly. It might be the camera, but it looks like both of your Irvin caps have very matt looking surfaces on the sheepskin, while the one I recieved is very...
I have two C-series G-1s for sale if anyone is interested. Ones a size 42 Star Sportswear dated 1964, the others a size 46 Irvin B. Foster. They are listed on ebay for 250 and 299 respectively, if a forum member is interested I can do 220.00 and 270.00. Descriptions and photos on the auctions...
I respectfully disagree John. Repro vintage clothing and by extension their various makers are a large part of Fedora Lounge. I think a vendors attitude towards their customers is just as valid a discussion topic as the vendors products themselves. Jacket Vendors especially. These are huge...
Another gem from Stu:
"On the various flight and vintage jacket forums, where "men" put up digital pictures for their "buddies" of how they look in flight jackets -- children dressing up, no, cross-dressing as adults -- one can read expert instructions on aging, softening, antiquing new...
..besides the obscene pricing and rock hard leather is his utter contempt for his customer base.
From Lost Worlds:

Aeros after 4 months everyday use. As its unlikely that we'll be getting any more snow, I've washed them down and they'll be getting a nice coat of pecards before they go away for the next 6 months.
The card was charged last night, was only charged the regular cost of 15.00 pounds, either the checkout was mistaken, or it was changed because I said something. Either way I'm happy.
Is VLJ down? Whenever I try to go to the site I get the following message. Is this a problem of mine, or is it VLJ?

Inspired by Holdemchamps photos, I went and ordered an Irvin B-2 one size up from the cap I have right now. Strange thing is the checkout charged me 20 pounds for shipping, when only a week or so ago it charged me 15 for a cap of same size and weight. I left a message in the order asking Gary...
I dont have any experience with the Highwayman, but zipped sleeves on my Irvin are really good if you need to cool off a bit, crank open the zips and let some of the heat out. Plus the zips just look cool :D
Wow, I REALLY like the look of the RAF cap, it may not be an issue item it it sure looks sharp! And the price can't be beat either. I may just have to pick one up...It looks like the sheepskin used is the same as the 42 pattern Irvin, would match my jacket perfectly. And is that a little woven...
