Over here where I live, hats are sloooowwwllly becoming the trend... the hipster trend - meaning stingy brims and non-felt fedoras (straw, synthetic materials, etc). I have yet to see a local wearing a wide-brimmed fedora.
Apparently the only wide-brimmed hats over here are either cowboy...
I have both. The FedIV is the everyday hat while the PB is my "need a nicer hat" hat. My PB isn't the bullet-proof one, though... it's soft but can take being steamed without tapering.
I was with my wife and her alumni organizing a charity event in an orphanage; we threw a party for 'em with clowns and magicians, gave 'em toys and junk food (of course we also gave 'em healthy food).
The founder of the orphanage was going around thanking all the organizers and when he got...
I was at my daughter's school yesterday for a family-oriented activity and was getting kinda bored while waiting for the program to begin so I snapped a few pics of my Fed IV.
It's hard to get the color right when shooting indoors. You'll notice on the 3rd pic that it looks kinda...
Hmmm... that's weird. I've never sweat through any of my hats. And I live in a tropical country. Although, I do take the hat off a few seconds to wipe my forehead when I feel the sweatband is getting soaked.
I did have sweat trickle down my eyebrow from the sweatband when I tilted the hat...
Funny how a lot of you have experienced hat boxes being dented up and squashed. I've never had that experience. The boxed of hats that were shipped to me were not bashed up in anyway... but I never ordered from a hattery, only from an individual.
Ha! Here most people think my hat is made of leather or suede! Go figure. lol
When I say it's rabbit fur / hare they say I'm so cruel...
"Rabbits are sooooo cute!!! You're an evil, evil person for wearing something made from a rabbit!" - Exact quote from a friend / ex-officemate of...
I'm seeing more and more "fauxdora" wearers these days. I like the fact that it's getting them back to wearing fashionable (more so than a ball cap) hats. It may even lead to people eventually graduating to wide-brimmed fedoras.
The only problem I see in my country is there aren't any...
I think the plastic is also there to protect the logo on top... The logo on my Christy's liner smudged and faded because it kept coming in contact with my head... or maybe my sweat is just too acidic.
Mixed feelings on that thread. The only thing that bothers me there is they posted pics of members here and openly criticized them.
Oh, well... I always knew it would be hard to justify wearing a wide-brimmed hat to everyone. Especially nowadays that fedora wearing just isn't...
* EDIT * I see you added more posts as I was writing this one... This is in response to the 1st link you posted:
Hmmmm... Each person will always his own point of view.
But they don't seem to be dissing our love of hats. It's the vintage clothing they are dissing (well, mostly) and the...
