Yep! It came out just fine. I once wore this for 5 blocks in heavy (really heavy) rain before. The hat was soaked on top, but the water didn't even penetrate the underside of the hat.
I'm going to buy a camel, brown and burgundy colored ribbon later. Planning on trying to replicate Art's two-toned ribbons. I'm going to use the camel as a base color and either brown or burgundy as the accents.
The Christy's sable is actually just brown. The hat in question is now a faded brown... I've been going through Art's thread, looking for brown hats. But it's very hard to spot one that doesn't have a dark ribbon (which I'm trying to steer clear of so it won't look to Indy-ish).
My youngest once took my Fed IV, wore it on her head, mashed it up on her head then threw it to the floor... Not contented with what she did, she then stepped on it. Good thing the Fed IV is a trooper! Nothing bad happened to it.
I'm actually also planning to change the ribbon on my beat up Christy's Adventurer which was my first Indy hat. It's now shrunk in terms of crown height but still looks straight. I want to replace the ribbon to make it less Indy-ish. Do any of you have a suggestion on what color ribbon would...
For those with toddlers who are starting to write on walls... this is a good buy.

Although, my youngest who's turning two seems to prefer writing on herself with markers... :eusa_doh:
It was too hot to wear a long sleeved shirt... I even brought a jacket because when we left home it looked like it was going to rain. Turned out it only rained where I live and not at the amusement park.
It was soooooooooo hot that day that we didn't get to really ride on most of the...
Well, when she was 2 she did draw all over our walls with a crayon. Good thing it wasn't a pen or marker. So we told her never to write or draw on anything that's not paper.
She remembered it so much that when she was at the hospital getting a skin allergy test, she suddenly cried out loud...
Actually, that pic was taken a few weeks ago at a local amusement park here in the Philippines. It's our little version of a poor man's Disneyland. That was in a section called 'Adventureland'... even the restrooms' facade were made to look like ancient temples. Come to think of it, if I...
At least it wasn't like what happened with me... my daughter who was 3 or 4 at the time, started writing on my friends' walls. What did she write? Gibberish sentences! I had to explain to people that it wasn't me who posted those. It wasn't exactly gibberish words, but she tried to copy...
whoopsie!
To get back on topic, when I went to the beach, almost everyone was wearing a fedora or cowboy hat. All straws, of course. I think I'm the only guy crazy enough to wear a fur felt in the Philippines' tropical climate.
That Fed IV Deluxe has been soaked twice already. The first time was while walking to the car in a freak rain shower wherein I had to walk 5 blocks in pouring rain. No visible water droplets as the whole hat was wet! It didn't shrink that much, I think. It's still going strong. Very durable.
Since nobody noticed my question... here it is again.
What other ribbon color would be nice on a brown (Christy's Adventurer) hat? I'm planning to turn my old Indy hat into a different style and I thought changing the ribbon color would be nice (since the original ribbon flared outwards). I...
