I have both. I would like to get something about halfway between the two shades.
FWIW moonstone is very close in tone to Stetson's caribou, although caribou is a little warmer. (Side by side, caribou looks a little maroon or purple -- or, moonstone looks a little cyan or blue.)
Those hats are made of silk satin. They are for evening wear.
Formerly, top hats for day wear were made from a silk plush material which is no longer manufactured, the machinery having been destroyed.
Daywear top hats are now only made of fur felt, but there is a market for the surviving silk...

A homburg always has a center dent (which distinguishes it from a bowler) and a pencil-curled (and bound) brim (which distinguishes it from a fedora or trilby).
A lord's hat is a homburg with an unbound brim.

I got a Nostalgia (non-bound, from a different retailer) and I have no complaint about the felt. Of course, I didn't see the ones that besdor returned!
Anyway, I like the hat well enough. Time will tell how it wears.

I own dinner jackets dated 1926 and 1929 that have pocket flaps. (Both are 1 button SB with peak lapels.) Pocket flaps may have temporarily gone away at some later time, but they are not a recent innovation.
That said, one tends not to see them on fashion plates from any period.
