Oooooh! That's one sweet Hurricane! Beautiful work there, Smithy. :eusa_clap
I love to build kits myself and here's one of mine: The P-26 "Peashooter"
It's the 1:32 Hasegawa kit.

I love the coat, Starius! Very stylish. :eusa_clap
But the headgear was a bit over the top, imho. Is that something you actually wear during the Iowa-winters, or was it just for the photo session? :)

I have a similar, but smaller one, at home made by "Primus" and as far as I know these things where run on carosene. To get the blow torch going you had to build up pressure for the carosene by pumping the handle. Then you had to pre-heat the carosene using alcohol fuel in the small pan under...
Rondo,
If you follow this link: http://www.handelsboden.com/index2.html and you like what you see, you can contact the company at this email: info@handelsboden.com to get more information. (they sell matching pants as well). It's not Vanson but a very good copy of the Swedish army dispatch...
LOL! Thanks Tom! lol
I wear my coat every chance I get these days and I'm loving it.
It doesn't make me look anywhere as cool as Jack Harkness but I'm as snug as a bug in a rug. :p

Thanks guys!
Yeah, I found a clock (modern quartz) that will fit. It's only a couple of weeks now until the falcons (or are they eagles?) will tell me the time again.
Paddy: Sorry to head about the burglary. No matter how good you are insured, things like that can never fully be replaced...
I'm a 100% autumn guy but I agree with Edward about needing the changing seasons as well. I think 70% autumn would be perfect, the remaining 30% divided on the other seasons. :)

Thanks duggap, I had planned to use big, round, wood orbs but the only type I found was too expensive. Then I came across these kitchen knobs in a box over at my local thrift store and figured they would work just as fine... they did and they cost me almost nothing. :)
Thanks J.T.M. I wish I...
I was browsing through a couple of mail order catalogues the other day (one from 1934, the other from 1945), and the only colours avaliable on hats where:
1934:
Black
Dark grey
Silver grey
1945:
Navy
"Fashion brown"
Mid grey
I dunno, but I figure a lot of people here in Sweden...
Finally! I've been putting this off for ages but last week I finished my own hat rack. It's a variant of Bolthead's vertical version.
I took a wooden strip (1½x3/8, 5 foot long) and attached dowels to it with wooden knobs (handles) on them. The whole thing was stained in cherrywood and...
For years I've been coveting this table clock owned by my Grandmother and I finally worked up the courage to ask my mother if I could have it. She said yes! The clockwork is bust (and gutted) and the plaster is chipped and worn in some places but I love the grand design. I have no idea how old...
Following RBH's method (Described here: LINK) I was happy to notice how much easier it was to reshape my Pachacuti Brisa. It's still Work In Progress but today I went from this:
To this:
I'm not 100% sure where I'm heading with this new shape but I'll come to me in due time. :)...
