I think if you know you always have an issue with the size chart being "wrong", you should probably try making a muslin first so that if you have any problems, you're using cheap fabric instead of the nice fabric you want for your garment. Try measuring the pattern's design ease as well. Here...- SayCici

It's weird because it's just one side of my head that reacts that way! I think I may also be brushing them out too much. I'd never know you had trouble with your hair, though! I really liked your hair in that most recent photo you posted! Fingerwaves are another thing I need to work on. :x -

Is 30s hair supposed to have layers or is that up to the individual? I'm in the last stage of growing my hair out (waiting for the shortest layer to reach the right length), but I've been practicing pin curls and I wonder if that's the reason they don't come out quite right? The shortest hair in the 40s and 50s?
I think it would be difficult to say "this is the shortest hair you would ever see in this time period" because it seems like once hair was bobbed, the "rules" changed. Leslie Caron in the 50s: Audrey Hepburn: I've had my hair a little shorter than Leslie Caron's above. -

NicoleAnn, muslin is a type of fabric but it also refers to the practice of sewing something up in a cheapy fabric, like muslin, if you think you might have fitting issues and want to work them out before cutting into your more expensive fabric and potentially messing it up.- SayCici
