I'm the opposite! I could see it as a nice blouse, with a solid-colored skirt on the bottom. Or still a dress, with the print on top or bottom as you like and then a solid color, with pockets of that fabric or covered buttons or something on the solid fabric to bring in the print!- SayCici

What's wrong with wearing flats with skirts and dresses? I know things like ballet flats don't really have a lot of cushion if you're going to be standing on your feet all day though, so something like black chucks or Keds could be good. I don't think they'd look totally out of place, but the colors and fabric do lend to looking 70s. What about keds? They're not clunky, been around for a long time, and because of the simplicity of their style they could be a little more versatile.- SayCici

At my old community college the suit would definitely have increased the number of stares I got, but starting in May I'll be going to a big ol' university so I think it'd be more appropriate, or there'll at least be a bunch more people for me...- SayCici

Lenore, for the tattoo you are thinking of getting, just look for a good artist who works in traditional style. That's what that kind of work is referred to as, and they can draw up any idea you have in that style, you don't need to look for the right flash.- SayCici
