I have a gray hat just like that in a friend's shop that's not selling. I should go grab it and take pics for academic reasons only. I was gonna say around '80 on mine.
Also, only sellers show the whole Louge a hat for sale on the bay...I promise I won't bid, the '60s were not friendly to brims, speaking in generalities.
I found a grail hat (to me) in an antique store in Colorado. It was a needle in a haystack situation, like once in a lifetime. My point is, you can also custom make hats that are nearly like a vtg '50s-'60s hat. Any color scheme u choose. Some finished hats that ship the next day, or u can...
In the mail and right on the head for the day off today. Angoulita Tony. Not as perfect as I've owned in my life (OR 25), but I'm very pleased overall w the quality of the hat from Greece... summer lovin', had me a blast....
My Agnoulita 'the Tony' in Navy blue arrived. So it IS Nice and Dark colored like I wanted. The crown is substantial, not unlike some vintage hats I've had. The rabbit felt on the crown is a good balance of soft yet sturdy, like a dress weight I'd venture. Ribbon is not too wide. This inside is...
I just saw this in the 'latest posts'. Some great ties here. I collect newer ties than these beautifully hand painted gems. My Countess Mara and Brooks bros ties are my fav's. You wear these well. Like them a lot.
I guess I could ask officially. Any Agnoulita customers get your hat shipped from greece, just to get hung up in Omaha DHL shipping facility? It's been late coming for many days. Not used to this from anyone.
Firstly, there are thousands of companies and price ranges. My Seiko Sport is a dive model and I think it works w any dress. My Vario is a basic military replica model. Goes w anything, imo.
It just struck me while removing my timepiece, not many people notice it, but I do, and enjoy winding it every evening. Kind of like wearing a nice lid like the all the cool fellows did back in the good old days. Never left the house without one, in fact.
Welcome. Everybody wears hats. Trucker caps, baseball, beanies, felt and straw westerns. Not many wear fedoras, but I have, and used to have a modest collection myself. It's a piece of clothing, not unlike a good suit, that takes a little getting used to. People often comment on them, mostly...
That throws a little more light on your pursuit. I really like that hat you've fitted w a new contrasting ribbon. Some grays and browns and khakis go well together. Also true enough observations about common brown on brown hats. I understand where your coming from. I recently commissioned a...
Alright. This is my opinion as usual, and many will disagree to be sure. I think hat makers are still pumping out out brown hats with matching ribbons (or some black) because the ribbon material is all the contrast you really need. A cream panama w a brown ribbon would look fine. The other way...
The hat shape, proportions, trend in color, and little black sweat scream '60s to my eye. Could it be 1950-'60? Maybe. Wear it well and keep stylin'. My long face doesn't support brims that stingy. My humble opinion.
Just picked up Frankenstein at a thrift spot. Excited to read it sometime soon. Fairly interesting author backstory and circumstances that lead up to penning.
Just discovered this maker, Agnoulita. If you need a custom western or hybrid for a good price, give him look-see. I can't believe the hats he's putting out for the price. He also seems to be improving more and more in recent years. My opinion.
Hufvud is a really good one too. Willing to go back...
