update on my Schott SP611 Born to Ride after a week or so

finding the steerhide increasingly comfortable to wear and conforming nicely

loving the very short 23.5 inch length of the medium size

the lack of true liner (similar to the Vandals jacket) definitely allows a sizing down and the lack of underarm footballs do not inhibit riding with it even sized down

love this jacket best of all my Schotts View attachment 815173 View attachment 815174 View attachment 815175 View attachment 815176 View attachment 815178

NOS sears "the leather shop" crosszip. Possibly the first time ANYONE has worn it. Rainy day in NYC and it protected me perfectly.

I'm very happy with the fit on this one. Nice bright YKK hardware, leather is still quite stiff and somewhat waxy. I suspect it will age VERY well. The only thing I don't like is the epaulets (not a fan of them in general). Thinking of removing them somehow

I’m wearing my favorite casual Dainese Italian leather jacket. I bought this jacket in 2012, but it was too tight then because it is a Euro slim fit, so I sold it, parting with one of my prized leather jackets. Recently, I was lucky enough to repurchase the same jacket, but two sizes up this time.

FYI: Dainese motorcycle riding jackets run true to size but snug, and because of Italian sizing, you’ll want to size up one to two sizes for an equivalent fit in their casual jackets. Doesn't make sense why the sizing differs between a designated riding jacket and a casual jacket. Would love to see Dainese address this global marketplace sizing confusion.

Nice to see another one on here. I love mine!

(An old photo, btw. I don't have this one with me but I miss it.)

Yours is a little different from mine - on mine the belt is attached and only covers the front. The material looks similar. I want mine to end up with the texture yours has - that's kind of what I had in mind
A previous owner removed the belt one mine, but it had one originally.

Mine is shiny but I can't tell if yours is.

Also, I can't tell if yours is a single panel back or a two panel - mine is single. The Leather Shop had a number of iterations of this jacket.

My epaulets have two snaps so you can choose how you want them to look. One makes them tighter and the other makes them looser. I like the epaulets personally.

I believe these are made from steerhide.

Enjoy breaking it in!
