Recently acquired Schott jacket from around 2010. Looking to get the area below the chest taken in a little bit and also the length if possible. Any recommendations on a good leather jacket repair shop that does this here in the US? Thank you.

It looks good on you.
As a rule of thumb I would suggest not to make any alterations: they might not work as you expect them to.

it feels like the cowhides that I’ve had in the past. It’s one of my best fitting and comfortable jackets that I’ve ever owned. “XL” size. I normally where between 38 and 40.

Lounging around in a Y’2 sreerhide western shirt. Just arrived today. One size too small (38). It will probably end up in the classifieds soon but loving a light leather shirt/jacket feel Rather than a heavier jacket.
Sure looks sharp on you. Very grainy leather, I suspect it's comfortable, even if you wear it un-snapped?

yes very comfortable. Unlike a true leather jacket which is more structured and stiff, this has much less material and the leather is soft and stretchy so it really feel like putting on a shirt rather than a jacket.

i was intending to keep it and wear it unbuttoned but the wife suggested just sell it and get one size bigger.
