Great looking Langlitz! What leather did you go with? Medium weight cowhide?

Thanks Mendel! It’s the medium weight cowhide. I wanted to go with the essentials for my first Langlitz. I did ask for two modifications since I don’t ride motorcycles - no action back and square cut back bottom.

It's a rustic leather. Mine has scars peaking through from underneath the corrected grain. Better examples are shown in the Lost Worlds thread, but that we cannot get.

Thanks. IFAIK moosehides tend to be quite heavily scarred which makes using them challenging in jackets.

I have some contacts to tanneries in Northern Europe and have considered to have a jacket made out of Scandinavian elk, but there seems to be many issues on the way to make these plans come true.

It's nice, very comfortable to wear. Luxurious. I do prefer the temper/firmness of horsehide though. But definitely a great addition to the collection

I used to work for a very well known Chicago based company. Never made it out there, but all my colleagues told me. Horrible winters. Horrible summers. Maybe 2 or 3 good weeks in the spring and 3 or 4 weeks in the fall.
