Looks like it is settling down ever-so-slightly. Looking good Mr.F. You and I received our jackets on the same day. I have been wearing mine as much as possible, also.

I asked for the "blackest, smoothest, shiniest" hide from JL. I would say they picked a pretty good one for me. I was worried that it might be too brownish from what I was hearing about the overdye. It seems black to my eye. I tried to show it against my 618 steerhide, which I would call a "greyer/lighter" black.

I am not really sure DoubleH. I know it came with some nicks and scratches here and there when I received it. I have been wearing it every day, and I shoveled snow in it already. I am thinking CXL probably gets scuffed up more than other leathers, not really sure.

Thanks buddy! Those are Chippewa engineers in burgundy cxl. No steel cap toe in these ones.

Yes I’m going to be wearing the Langlitz a lot. Today with Deer Wear faux sherpa vest. It was cozier than I expected though not totally sold on the leather + leather. Maybe I just like my Filson vests too much..on the other hand the yellow/tan of the vest sure pops.

I went back and had a closer look. There are scuffs, scrapes, and scratches EVERYWHERE. lol. I just made a few new ones with my fingernail. Does your 6oz hide scratch easy? I am thinking it is just a traight of Horween CXL?

The leather from my 6 and 7 oz cxl is very clean as you can see, you may want reach them to ask why, because it is not normal at all. Does brand new Aero cxl jacket comes in with lots of scuff? I don't think so, don't know how much you pay.....

FWIW, my Aero CXL scratches and scuffs like a mofo. Wear it and all is good. A few long, hard rides and the entire thing will be marked up.

Your Horween looks a little different (no scratches and a little grainier). I'll try and pay attention to it and see how it ages. I know I will put this jacket to the test. Other than my Carhartt, it will be the only jacket I wear until warmer weather comes my way.

GW Cossack. This Indian Goatskin is a great hide, lightweight, but still drapes well, and is quite rugged.
