The easiest and least expensive way is to cut them off and burn off the thread ends.

The most expensive way is to swap out the inside facing to delete the wind flap, you can get factory finishing but it will be expensive.

I cut a wind flap off a Schott with scissors. I cut it so close to the seam that it was hard to see there was ever a flap there. Used the leather for zipper pull strips. Win-win.

I agree they definitely have a function, but I don't think I've seen to many members have a custom jacket made with a wind flap no?


Very few of the jackets bought in these parts are dedicated motorcycle jackets, or intended to be worn as such, so little call for a windflap as a practical item.
