I have 2 pair of Chelsea boots, same maker same model, I bought 15 years ago that fit better and are more comfortable than anything I've found since. Sadly, that model was discontinued and the redesign doesn't fit the same way. Luckily, I bought the original in two colorways — so I have backup material. Does anyone know of made-to-order cobblers who'd disassemble a pair and use the leather to reconstruct a new pair?
I've tried several popular chelsea brands but most are too wide / loose around the ankle, heel cup and forefoot.
I've actually tried MTO lace up boots before — even though I explained that I have a very low-volume foot, the boots came back fitting perfectly in length and width, but have way too much volume top to bottom. An insert helped snug things up a bit, but that trick wouldn't really work for a Chelsea boot — there's no effective way to fix that kind of volume issue, believe me I've tried.

You can ship your boots to a last maker and have them make a unique last of your boots. Then you can ship that last to a boot maker to make the boots.

As with so many things, it's undoubtedly possible, but it'll be significantly more expensive than finding something with the right fit otr. I well understand how maddeningly frustrating it can be when the perfect piece gets discontinued and you can't replace it when needed.
