Thanks Red. The Marathon lost out to the boater in the end.

Curiously, the boater got no mentions in the comments I got today on my clothes. It was the big hit the last time I wore it to a festival.
Looks like this Mondo

The leather sweat has a sort of crocheted thread band attached to it and then that band is sewn to the hat it self. Gives the sweat a little movement and some airspace behind it, depending on the size of the actual hat that is.

Thanks Stefan. I had been getting a fairly regular dose of felt with morning coffee, but as you see it lost out to the boater for my outing to the jazz fest. There was a good crowd yesterday as it was a bit cooler, and some good music.

Having trouble working up the energy to do much of anything after the long weekend out and about.

Super cool! I like the different look for a Panama. Rare or easy to come by?

Everybody looking GREAT! This forum is inspirational..
Two in one Blow!! Whew, they look deadly!
Red....I hope your wife's wrist gets better soon! I know she's dealing with alot of pain...I'm sorry for that!

Heres the new Akubra Sydney I got at Byrnie Utz last Wed.

Thanks Bird, she is doing much better, not much pain. She was able to take her wrist brace off to shower yesterday, major accomplishment. I can't wait to see the Byrnie Utz shop before it is gone for good. I don't get up to Seattle often enough, and always had planned to drop in, now it is a quest.

I like that crown Perry. Looking cool and summer ready.

The heat is returning, but had to go with the new Marathon for the morning in the yard at least.

It was a lot of fun Red. But the heat and humidity were pretty brutal the first two days.

I don't know how rare, Red. It's not in their current catalog, but one might be able to order it

Yes, the Marathon is one of my $2 finds from yesterday. 2 3/8" brim and the crown is just shy of 4" at the front. Missing the liner, but the felt and ribbons are in pretty good condition with no mothing.

Thanks,
Michael

I got a huge pack of hats from Holland, yesterday. Not so much time to have a good relationship with the "new" arrive.
Some were part of the exchange with Stefan, others were from Italy to be renewed and embellished.
Today, with more time, I have to show the first one, let's start with seasonal hats

This is a common panama found online that has been put in perfect order by Penumbra Hats. The hat has a new shape, a new ribbon with a bow and a well-made sweatband, thanks to the skilful work of Fleur
PF 4.jpg

You will find the complete description of each operation made in next days on the appropriate thread dedicated to the new hats from Netherlands
PF 7.jpg

I must say that the wait was worth a pack of hats restored with great quality
PF 2.jpg

More to come.
Have a nice day

Yes! Just like Jello, there's always room for a San Antonio. Good looking hat, makes me want to pull mine out of the box. I am already tired of straw also.
Still hot, but I tire of straws easily.

Resistol San Antonio.

They wear these in San Antonio when it gets hot, right?

Great looking assortment of lids today, fellas. Makes me embarrassed to show my collection. It's hot here in Central Ohio today. Anyone familiar with Ohio weather will tell you that it's just not hot, but it's also humid, pushing up the heat index. Our 90s can feel like 100s. So check this out. I'm wearing a black hat on this hot muggy evening. This is one of my thin ribbon conversions. I converted this one from a Resistol 'Western'.
