Splendid, gentlemen! Show them how it should be done!
Thanks Red. The Marathon lost out to the boater in the end.Another great look Michael. Perfect tie and hat combo for a jazz festival. A boater will also make a great statement.
Looks like this MondoRemind me what a free floating sweatband is?
Thanks Stefan. I had been getting a fairly regular dose of felt with morning coffee, but as you see it lost out to the boater for my outing to the jazz fest. There was a good crowd yesterday as it was a bit cooler, and some good music. You do need a dose of felt every once in a while during summer too. Very nice, Michael.
The butterfly effect might do its work here, Charlie. Years from now they'll get the urge to buy a good hat for a reason they can't explain or remember!Thank you for ALL the shout-outs,@Redfokker, @T Jones, @AbbaDatDeHat! It was a TON of fun, despite the oppressive heat.
Stefan, meeting in Hanover has the added advantage of being the home of Dartmouth College, and the streets are usually busy with students. We CAN show them how it's done! As Alan and I stood looking at hats in the back of my vehicle, a young fellow broke out of his group of friends to tell us he was impressed with our SHIRTS. He was also the only one in his crowd with an Aloha shirt on. I felt compelled to ask what he thought of our hats, and the collection in the back of the car. He was politely impressed. His pals, less so. From many years of business, I can tell when the audience "glazes over," and these guys were gone.

Took the family to Jurassic world.
I'm not normally drawn to neckties, but that one is stunning! My newest Art Fawcett this morning for services. The brim is 3 1/4" which is a little wider than I normally wear but I like it. Also the only really vented hat I have. Interesting feeling wearing a hat but still feeling the breeze.

Those fools! Many of us would kill to get a glimpse of even a small portion of your wonderful hat collection, and they'll never know how close they were to being in the presence of greatness....Stefan, meeting in Hanover has the added advantage of being the home of Dartmouth College, and the streets are usually busy with students. Curiously, the boater got no mentions in the comments I got today on my clothes. It was the big hit the last time I wore it to a festival.

The leather sweat has a sort of crocheted thread band attached to it and then that band is sewn to the hat it self. Gives the sweat a little movement and some airspace behind it, depending on the size of the actual hat that is.
