Late news flash!!

Seen on the streets (more in the AC) of Hanover, NH, two vastly different forms of straw fedoras. Here we have Alan (left) with a magnificent vintage parabuntal, and Charlie, sporting an early Art Fawcett Milan.

We were lucky enough to pull off a lunch together today, and there just wasn't enough time to cover all the topics on the agenda. Next year, @Alan!
Uh Oh! Look out ladies! Two hatted gents on the loose! Great looking straws, Charlie and Alan. The Hawaiians go double great!

Those are Coatis, Red. We have them in Southern Mexico. I have also seen many in Costa Rica.
I once saw one trotting across the living room of my Dad's house in Acapulco, not 6 feet away from my brother's legs. He seemed to be pretending he was a cat.

Indeed, there are plenty of coatis in that mountains. They take food from the tourists hands.

Good morning. Felt weather this morning. I am wearing a vtg. Stetson Whippet that has collected a few drops of rain during my dog walk.

Best, Eric -
Beautiful hat, Eric. The proportions of the Whippet are very appealing.

Panama Bob monti this morning.
Very nice, Bob. Nice fine weave.

I may change to a boater if the sun stays out, but for now with the threat of a rain shower I'm going Marathon.

I'm still hoping for the boater action for the last day of the jazz festival.

Have a good one,
Michael
You do need a dose of felt every once in a while during summer too. Very nice, Michael.
Predicted temps in the upper 90s today, which means in reality it's likely to nudge into the triple digits. There's no debate in my mind. It's the Stetson Reward Shantung.

No debate here too. Cool hat!

Nice tight looking weave on this one Stefan. Love the ribbon treatment. German?
Thanks, Mike. German with heavy Dutch treatment: see conversion corral thread.

Alright. One more Dalton. So by popular demand (not really; nobody asked) finishing out Dalton Week 2018 with a black Hommie generously gifted to me by @Michael R.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Great hat, Jim. No modern homburg comes close to these vintage ones.

The need for felt; that could be a running theme here. Nice one, Brent. Feels summery somehow.

Really liking the Ecuadorian Supernatural. Rich blue ribbon, shirt and pocket square make a great look.
Thanks, Dlaniger. The hat is quite stiff, but I found that's a big advantage in windy conditions!
Nice and cool today, felt, Yay! Unlined NW Hats Stetson Playboy clone, the "Slats Gill". Still working on that classic Hollywood curl that Slats sported in 1934. It is getting there, each time I wear it.

That is a gorgeous hat, Mike. The light colour fits summer too.

Spent the morning buying hats, watching the World Cup soccer games, and taking the family to vote in the Mexican presidential elections, which are undoubtedly the most important in the country's history. Everyone's voting this time. Depending on the results, I might go back to live in the US of A.

And tomorrow morning Mexico's soccer team will probably be massacred by the Brazilians, who've won the cup five times. Boy, am I nervous about both results.

Wearing my Classic Grey Optimo Manhattan. I realized I have neglected it lately.

Great looking assortment of lids today, fellas. Makes me embarrassed to show my collection. It's hot here in Central Ohio today. Anyone familiar with Ohio weather will tell you that it's just not hot, but it's also humid, pushing up the heat index. Our 90s can feel like 100s. So check this out. I'm wearing a black hat on this hot muggy evening. This is one of my thin ribbon conversions. I converted this one from a Resistol 'Western'.

Excellent hat, Johnny.
You guys never disappoint with all the fine hats. I ate some bad bulk food nuts from the local grocery yesterday, so haven't been wearing hats since about 2pm Saturday. Violent vomiting and my sides hurt from it. Feeling better now, but have to head in to work at 4 am Monday for an audit of about 4,000 firearms. Not looking forward to it, but they're depending on me. Funny how you try to scale back and be semi-retired, take a pay cut of at least 50% in pay and benefits, and in some ways your responsibilities increase.

In the morning I wore a Stetson Parabuntal. A sweet, extremely lightweight hat for a sunny day.

Very fine looking hat, Doug.

This morning I changed to "city attire" to meet up with friends at a local coffee shop. I was sport'n a Vtg. Stetson Bantam, vtg. tie and some vtg. spade shoes.

i-Bqz7GB5-M.jpg

i-vzcZ9nB-M.jpg

Home this afternoon to prepare some lunch in the rain. I switched to a Mallory for grilling is that the Stetson could dry on a wooden hat block.

i-QMpCzCZ-M.jpg

Early this evening I was out at a local club listening to acoustic blues. I gifted some of my hats to my guitarist friend as I have been tiring of his frequent use of the tapered crown modern Stetson Whippet.

i-FgXfMJg-M.jpg

I changed my hat- vtg.Mallory in an inky blue felt hue, tie - to another vtg. tie and shoes to a pair of modern Alden gunboats.
