What cigar (or pipe) did you smoke today?

I'm interested in your thoughts on the Speyside. My store contact called this morning to tell me they'd received a McClelland's three pack of one each of Speyside, Lowland and Islay. I wonder why it was a three pack though?

Tonight it was an Old Henry runt with Highland. Quick, but nice.

Speyside is fine with me. It is the lightest of flavors when it comes to scotch. It is very flowery, fragrant and honeyed tasting. Much more sugary tasting than say an Islay or Jura that is for sure.
It is something you pair with a nice medium bodied cigar or lighter. You won't lose the taste of either in the exchange. :D

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm thinking it's a pass for me as I most generally prefer an Islay or a Highland to any of the Speysides I've tried.

Cain 550 maduro tonight with Islay. I don't know if the Cains need more humidor time of if I need to learn to smoke them slow. Great cigar but I had some trouble with the burn.

Saturday evening I had a Tatuaje Havana VI Almirantes (Churchill) this was the first Tatuaje cigar I've smoked and was quite pleased with it. Guess I'll have to try a few more.

Last night was another of my regulars, Romeo y Julieta 1875 Belicoso

Oliva Serie G robusto. I like the Cain 550 Bob C. Give them another shot.

Agreed, I have been enjoying the various Cain blends too and you should give it another try.

I really like the Oliva Serie G, especially the maduro blend, also but I haven't warmed to the "V" blend. Maybe I should try a few more before completely dismissing them.

I will definitely give the Cains another go. I liked them enough to add a box to my humidor, so they'll be here for a while. I thought it would be a cigar that aged well.

I don't think you should dismiss the V series. The belicoso and the double robusto are both excellent cigars. I really like the G maduros too.

Tonight, a Brickhouse toro with McClelland's Lowland. Normally these are a really nice cigar, but I had trouble keeping up with this one. The burn was all over the place. Maybe I was more interested in the Scotch this time.

Macanudo Maduro Diplomat today. An interesting mixture of pepper and chocolate. It won't become my all time favorit, but I'll definitely get back to it from time to time.
