Pretty cool rendition of the old gang uniform there.
I always wanted to do that one or the red 2001 space suit one year for Halloween. Both are distinguished and recognizeable, but the Clockwork Orange outfit is more so.

I would recognize the 2001 space suit in an instance! You should do this! The nadsat get-up is pretty commonly done for sure, though. My friends are going as a gang of droogs this Halloween in fact; we all still need hats and groin protection, however. I am apparently the kind of person who likes to wear variations of her Halloween costumes on regular days of the year as well!

I was very proud of those braces I thrifted for $2, even though I had to sew buttons on the trousers for them. On Halloween I'm also going to wear a white tuxedo shirt and hopefully a white bow tie, if I can find one in time. I need a cricket bat!

When is halloween?

It's celebrated on October 31st, which fortunately falls on a Saturday this year. My friends here like to throw big parties and everyone wears costumes. Folks have told me that in Europe, only some places have recently started doing some variation on the North American Halloween tradition, and the costumes are usually horror-related/scary.

We don't celebrate Halloween in Europe as a custom because it is an American tradition.

But usually each nation celebrates it's harvest somehow.

I'm not really into Halloween. Mainly because it isn't our tradition and I'm not exactly liking all the americanization, if you catch my drift. No offence intended.

Edited to add: two of them are teapots... adorable. One is made out of shells. It fits in well with the general tackiness of my apartment

My older sister collects owl stuff as well.

I can't point fingers. I collect old pinup callender pages, but only June ones (birth month) and frame them. I'll keep going till my younger sister tells me to stop hanging them in the house fftopic:

These colors (and droogs) don't run. Halloween actually has its roots in England rather than America. Thanksgiving Day Maskers were a direct descendant of the Fantastics who began in the 1780's and the Mummers who date back to 400 BC.

It's a Finnish made Harrison, thrifted it in unused condition. It's pretty nice though the felt is really soft. I'm not sure if I can stiffen it a bit somehow, does someone know?

Couple of weeks old...

I had on a great outfit for the Vintage Flying Museum hangar dance a couple of weeks ago - black 1930s crepe dress with a peach satin collar, matching peach flower in the hair, 1940s bakelite necklace, USMC sweetheart jewelry, 1940s seamed stockings, 1940s black suede peeptoe platforms, and a curly lamb Gimbel Bros. coat! But alas, no photos.

Yes thank you for the correction. It is an anglosaxon tradition. But America being pretty much the most hard working exporter of its own traditions... Enough said.

Count out the colonizing Brits though That's who got us here in the first place. Had they stayed out... no Halloween in the States either :O
