Title: Is It Possible to Remove One Row of Welt Stitching and Trim the Sole? (Rolling Dub Trio LORO ZIP)
Hi everyone,
I own a pair of Rolling Dub Trio LORO ZIP boots, which I'm very happy with in terms of quality and craftsmanship.
However they are a size 11 and I think that they look to big on my feat.
I've been considering whether it would be possible to modify the welt to achieve a slightly slimmer and cleaner appearance.
The boots have two rows of visible welt stitching, and ideally, I would like to remove the outer row and trim down the protruding welt and outsole, leaving only the inner row of stitching.
I understand that the LORO ZIP uses a Direct Welt construction, but I'm unsure whether both rows of stitching are structurally necessary.
My main questions are:
I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences from members familiar with this type of boot construction.
Thanks in advance!

My main questions are:
- Would it be technically possible for a skilled cobbler to remove the outer row of stitching and trim the welt and outsole closer to the upper?
- Would the remaining inner row of stitching be sufficient to maintain the structural integrity of the boots?
- Could this be done by carefully trimming and refinishing the existing welt and sole, or would it require a more extensive reconstruction?
- Has anyone here had a similar modification done to a pair of boots, particularly ones with a double-stitched welt?
I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences from members familiar with this type of boot construction.
Thanks in advance!
