Loose grain repair?

Hi All,

I apologise if this isn't the best place for this post.

I've recently received some Rolling Dub Trio Loro zip boots in horsehide, and I'm really pleased with them. Unfortunately, the left shoe has what appears to be loose grain on the toe (feels sort of like a blister).

I've got a couple of questions:

1. Does anyone know if this will dramatically affect the lifespan of the shoe?

I'd presume not since it feels like a very thin layer.

2. Is there anything that can be done to repair this?

If not, then I can live with it. I was thinking of cutting into it on one side and filling it with superglue although that seems rather barbaric.

Thanks!

Here's a picture of the toe. View attachment 1000040994.jpg

I would live with it. -- Unless as Peacoat says, if new - send them back
If you got them off eBay - also try and return them.

Maybe send them in to have a cap-toe installed? (Probably would require a re-sole too.)

This is an issue frequentely discussed here. Consensus seems to be that it´s a (optical) fault.

I don´t think you can do anything about it, but it won´t affect the functionality/durability of the boot either.
