"Doolanders". Well, that explains why those vintage caps were so wide and flat.
I really like that style but no one seems to make them."Doolanders". Well, that explains why those vintage caps were so wide and flat.
I wonder if they had warning stickers that said riding bicycles after drinking pints of Ale may cause serious injuries? The Warrington Wesleyan Cycle Club outside the Mulberry Tree pub in Stockton Heath, circa 1910-1919.

Blackthorn is absolutely right--trying them on to see which size is best for you is always the best thing to do if you're able to. If not, I'd suggest you contact the manufacturer to get clarification on which of their sizes is closest to 7-1/4 because there is no established standard between hat makers when it comes to generic sizing.I am interested in trying a cap out.v if I'm a 7 1/4 US, am i a 58 cm in caps? Because I'm used to the leather sweatband, i can manipulate it but not sure about the wool cap and elastic band. Do i go smaller because it stretches? I see the sizes are more S-M-L. Is 7 1/4 a Medium or Large? Thx for any input.

Excellent Bob. A little peek into past. I like that tilt on the cap!Found some old large-format negatives of my Dad's family in the 1920s and 1930s (and a phone app to scan them). This is my Grandpa with his first wife (she passed a few years later) and a dog in the 1920s.
