I'm guessing that both slabs are covering tile damage.what is the slab of marble under the toilet for? I think I get the one under the heater so it doesn't rust if it gets too wet, but I don't get the toilet...

Perhaps the toilet sweats which is caused by cold water in the toilet and tank on hot humid days. I have had that situation and I was told the marble was one option to combat the situation.Great work Grant Fan!!!

That's commonplace in these parts in basements. My grandparents just put a bathroom in the basement and did just that.
