Opinions on Mister Freedom Campus jacket sizing?

For reference I am 5’7. 160lb. The average of my best fitting tops is 21.4 inches chest (pit to pit) and 18.6 in for the shoulder. I purchased this jacket in a size “40” which measures a 22 inch chest, and 18.5 inch shoulder. I also brought a size “38” before but returned it as the 21 inch chest and 17.5 shoulder was too small

I love my size 40, but at times notice some odd creases by the shoulder and chest. Please see photos. When I button the jacket, the shoulder creases disappear, but then chest wrinkles show up (right under my pecs). When I lift my arms and “push” the sides in, there is clearly more space in the chest. I think it is largely an issue of low arm holes causing these wrinkles but want your opinion. The reason I say this is when I go for a tight “air hug”, towards the end of the hug, I notice slight pressure in my armpits. But if I “hike up” the entire jacket on my torso so the underarm area is directly in line with my armpit and then do a tight air hug, there is no tension. This leads me to conclude the arm holes are slightly low, and I’m not sure a larger size is the right answer but I could be wrong. I am not an expert.

I included a full body shot as well to show that the jacket is the proper length (It can be hard to see this when the undershirt is not tucked in) with proper sleeve length.

Curious to hear your thoughts. Will it go away if I break the jacket more?

i had two of those jacket that fit me about the same way. i sold both of them because they were not that practical at that size. i then purchased the Randall in a larger size and am much happier.

That looks great, but I happen to really like the silhouette of the campus. Do you think if you sized up it would have solved the issue with the campus? Or is it inherent to a jacket?

Another strange observation. When I put a sweater under it, it actually does not look like it is pulling at the buttons at all. So I don’t think it is a chest tightness issue. It is some type of weird creasing under the armpits. It’s almost like there’s too much leather there.

I'm 170cm (5'7") tall and weigh 77kg (170lb) mines a size 42. I hate sleeves around my thumb knuckle so usually fold the cuffs.
