That’s totally cool Jack and one heck of a torch cut which is not as easy as one would think! Lot of edge clean up.
Most of yesterday i spent thinking back of projects he did. Thanks for the spark!!
The Valentine’s Day necklace he made for Mom was a classic. Steel chain you could pull a truck with and a 3” heart said “”I Love You Junie. Weighed about 10 lbs.
Still laughin!!

Sounds like you better fire up that torch while you still can. Otherwise you may end up on the porch rockin yourself like some.

Nowadays it would be done by CNC, no hand torch.

$5.00 for the jacket.

The ties were 50-cents each:

Some bar glassware. $1.00 for the mug, quarter for the wine (cordial?) glass.

And something heavy. From the early 1950s (when even table saws looked like hot-rods). $100 with several blades (some new).

So far I've been fortunate that the wife hasn't complained (yet) about my ever growing hat collection. Heck, she even indulged me recently with this hand steamer she found at a garage sale the other day:

It's not a Jiffy, but it's better than the kettle on the stovetop that I've been using up until now. Plug it in, pump it up, and out shoots a blast of steam. For only $1 this thing is the cat's a**.

Yesterday I was talking to my wife about getting a first-aid kit for our new shop/barn and today she thrifts this! 12” x 12” x 8” with two glass shelves. Just need to stock it.

There was one of those on the back wall in the barbershop of my youth. Never saw it open so no idea what he kept in it. This was the same barber who had a skull and crossbones, poison, nitroglycerin, etc. stickers on all of his glass tonic bottles.

Went to pick up a 1950 Delta drill press I found on craigslist and stopped at a couple of antique malls.

Found a Stetson Three Way hat box, a hat flange in my size (although more for my stingy brims) and a nice dough board.

Not quite a 'yard find' but we had a 'On the Home Front' display at a recent event and this rather nice American chap gave us this salted almonds tin for our display.

Vintage yarn art. Roughly 14” x 11” excluding frame. Some frame damage unfortunately. $2.00.

Just goes to show there is not much duct tape and half a clothespin won’t fix.

Junk jackpot this morning.

Formica top table, couple of mid-century folding chairs, both clocks work but need new light bulbs, the flamingos is cast aluminum, and I haven't even counted how many fishing rods I ended up with in that bundle yet, but I did check the ebay on the Ambassadeur reel....and I got the whole truckload for less than what those are going for.
