6oz is the thickest they(or anybody)can do, Alan is going to send me a sample of 6oz, he is also going to test if the machine is ok with 6oz hide.
Would hate to see a thread about it being too “light”. I’d like to see a pic of the sample. I’ve seen and handled some very heavy (8oz) Horween leathers. Not for jackets. Would love to see how the 6oz looks in comparison.

This is 5oz Horween CXL Burgundy I got on 2018 when I visited them. The thickness is equal (or less, since I didn't push the leather all the way down) to one quarter (1.75mm) + one cent (1.52 mm) which is above 3mm.

Allan showed me his 5 oz. a couple of years ago, and he was impressed with how thick it was for a jacket.

The only thing troubles me is the zipper, I want to use no.10 NOS crown zipper but not sure it is durable for 6oz leather. Other option is the riri zipper on my current JL.
