I've recently come across a Hugo Boss Davlon leather jacket that's actually Made in Germany, and it really caught my attention — especially considering how rare that is today. Before the 1990s, most Hugo Boss leather jackets were made in Germany with noticeably high-quality materials and construction. But nowadays, almost all of their leather offerings are produced in South Asia, and the quality (at least in my experience) has taken a significant hit.
This particular jacket looks like it's from a different era of craftsmanship. While researching, I stumbled across a post noting that Daniel Brühl was seen wearing this exact model back in 2018 when Hugo Boss briefly launched a "Made in Germany" capsule collection. But oddly enough, I couldn’t find much more information on it — no other leather jackets, no extended production, no continuation of the line?
It raises a few questions I'd love some insight on:
Did anyone here purchase anything from the Made in Germany leather line?
How does the sizing run — is it true to size or more tailored?
And why was this line discontinued so quickly despite the clear jump in quality?
Would appreciate any info from collectors or longtime followers of Hugo Boss leather!
