Yes indeed.Thank you, Steve. Several makers seem to have had an eye on the Lock&Co design for the crown patch without making it too obvious.

Very cool hat; I like it a lot. You keep finding these lovely old hats and I'm here for it.Hello, I purchased this vintage french homburg for 15 euros at a garage sale in La Haye du Puits, Normandie, France on Sun 18 Aug 2024. According to inscriptions inside the hat, The brand was "Priola, Paris" and the hat shop was "J. Erbs" in Cherbourg. Unfortunately, I found no tag beneath the sweatband which has a darker brown color than the usual vintage hats I find in garage sales. I'll have to find a way to reshape it a bit as there are few dents.

Optimo Metropolitan?Probably not going to find a Homburg like hat today at any price that will match an average one from 1950s or older.
I am on page 100 of this thread and searched around for hatters mentioned and I have come to the conclusion that, 1. Finding a pre 1970 hat in my size 8 long oval is probably a pipe dream, 2. Seems finding a hatter to make my size will be challenging, unless I go to my local hatter, Optimo and 3. I can use the pictures as ideas for future orders.
Very nice. Personally, I admire you and all the other loungers for taking on the sweatband (and ribbon) stitching. Etsuko has to coach me through sewing a button on!Borsalino Erodisti homburg in a grey colour called pomice. Size 56 with the brim at a generous 6,5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. I had to sew the damaged leather back to the reed, so those with a sensitive disposition in regards to poor needlework, please avert your eyes. Weighs 119 grams. Different in style than the other Borsalino homburg hats with its wider brim and thin brim binding. Very cool hat.
Thanks, Gary. Doing that kind of work makes me appreciate the unsung heroines of the finishing department even more.Very nice. Personally, I admire you and all the other loungers for taking on the sweatband (and ribbon) stitching. Etsuko has to coach me through sewing a button on!
It's on its way to Denmark right now. The P&C Habig homburg I posted here recently prompted Steve @Steve1857 right away to ask me to get that one for him, which I did. After its arrival I took some pictures of it and sent it on to Denmark.
P&C Habig homburg in a warm grey/sand colour with lovely contrasting ribbon and brimbinding. In excellent condition for its age.
You and me both, Randy. Too many of them are my size as it is, so I can live without this one fitting a different head. That is one I would be proud to wear myself. I like those colors.
