Thank you Steve1857. I’ll correct the ad. I agree it’s a trachten style hat. I’m of German heritage and own a few trachten hats. Specifically the Tirolerhut (Tirolean hat) variety. My favorite is a Zapf I bought in Austria!

I apologize for hijacking this Homburg thread! Cheers!
You're welcome Spike and no apologies necessary. Some nice looking Tirolehüte you have there.

Back to the real homburgs.
Mayser Spezial homburg in grey. Size 58 with the brim at about 6cm and the crown a substantial 12cm at the center dent. An older one it seems, judging by the liner and sweatband. Late forties or early fifties I think. Sold by Albert Wentzel of Lünen, Germany. From what I gather the shop lasted from 1855 for about a hundred years.

Great looking Mayser Homburg, Stefan. That's quite a tall crown. Extra pondus to a hat already with a lot of it.

Some from me as well that I haven't posted here.

Mallory homburg in dark blue (almost black).

Crown at 12.5cm at dent and brim at 6.2cm. Felt is very malleable and soft but also thick. One of my most warm hats for the Norwegian winter :)

Next, Cavanagh twenty homburg with thin brim binding, black

Condition is never worn. Crown at 12cm at dent and brim at 6.5cm. Wonderful proportions and style, love it!

Many, many thanks to the fantastic enabler Brent for these two !!

Third one is a mystery to me. Bought at the local vintage market for a price I couldn't resist ;) Monark black homburg made (imported?) for the Norwegian market and sold in Oslo.

Crown at 11.5cm at dent and brim at 5.5cm. Condition is never worn and felt surprisingly nice and dence. Any ideas about the brand ?

Love the purple liner on the Mallory and the liner on the Monark is beautiful.

Mallory seemed to have some fine colors for their liners. I believe mine has red.

Best,
Joe

Thanks! Indeed and on top of the unique color, mallory liner feels also heavy duty. Insulation in and out ;)

Wow, Panos! 4 super Fedoras, now 3 great looking Homburgs! I'm with Joe re the liners on the Mallory and Monark. As far as the latter is concerned, can't help you with any info I'm afraid. It's a new one on me, too. Nevertheless, a nice find.

Many thanks for your kind words Stefan, I appreciate it :) Although next to the big names, Monark steals the show so far ;)

It does, and next to a Mallory and a Cavanagh that's saying something! Came across a similar situation last friday when I found a black homburg branded Wotan. Pre-war with a really cool liner and sweatband. Should have taken that one with me (damn).

Pre-war, cool liner and sweat, named Wotan, and you didn't buy it, Stefan. I say damn, too. Sounds like one to have no matter the size. Ah well, we live and learn

Don't know what I was thinking, but it probably was something like "very cool, pity it's in black". These hats sometimes stick around, so who knows? Here's one I did bring though.
Milano homburg in brown. Not much to go on, because there's only a partial label. Italian made, but unclear by which manufacturer. The felt and finishing are excellent and the proportions are appealing with the brim at 6cm and the crown at 11,5cm. There's a wonderful warm reddish tone to the felt.
