Is there a red blooded American male who didn't ADORE Donna Summer? Cancer. G*d damned cancer. What a shame.
The irony is that I was going to participate(and still am) in Relay for Life tomorrow. Such a shame for her to go.Is there a red blooded American male who didn't ADORE Donna Summer? Cancer. G*d damned cancer. What a shame.
I just saw this obit in The Guardian. It sort of goes on and on, describing the life of a woman named Angelica Garnett, whom I guess you could call a writer of middling stature. But what I find amazing is that there could still be a member of the actual Bloomsbury set still alive as recently as May, 2012.

I really apprecdiated Fussell for his dead-on irreverence. And the book flyleaf photo that was "bombed" by a cat, tail raised, * to the camera. One of my favorite social critics, Paul Fussell, has died at the age of 88. His studies of the American social class structure and of the "dumbing of American culture" are must reads.
