Will do! I only fear the locals might be overwhelmed by so many handsome jackets, suddenly in one place at the same time!![]()
Everybody wears leather, down there. Most stick to it on their ‘Lederhosen’, though…

Long way from Frankfurt but I’d also potentially be game.
We’re about the same size I think based on the jackets you’ve sold. If I see you selling one I like I can just come try it on.Same here; Wiesbaden.

You had a nice natural horsehide one, Simmons Bilt I think, but think you’ve moved that on already. That cross zip is appealing but outside my means at the moment. Waiting for my western shirt in natural HH from Aero at the moment.
Gerne!Better still: grab a beer or an ‘Äppler‘ while doing so… Yes, the SB is long gone. I am planning to sell quite a bit in the next months to free closet space.
The Aero Western is something I am really looking forward too.
Looking to wax one of my suede jackets- could you share the mixture?Gentlemen and ladies, for your consideration, I submit my final photos of my pre-break'in-treatment:
I am very, very pleased with the result; from far away, it looks like the jacket has a pebble-grain;

and up close, it's just lovely:

There's that pebble grain look again at the shoulders:

All in all, I used somewhere between 300 and 405g of product, and I would say that the jacket finally weighs "what I feel it should weigh like" after my treatment; a new but "dry" jacket always seems light to me.
A few other observations: the birch pitch smells strongly of smoke, so much so that people sitting next to me would exclaim "is something burning?!", and why I put it in the overhead compartment when flying back to EuropeLeather-men here in Eastern Europe that use birch pitch often tell me it fades with time, but that there will always be a bit of that smokey smell. I'm all for it, as the autumn and the smell of woodsmoke are some of my favourite scents. It's slightly reminiscent of Huberd's Shoe Grease; indeed, I feel that my balm is kind of a home-made version of Huberd's, but less greasy. Finally - the birch pitch is a bit sticky, so the jacket will feel a bit tacky the first few days. [EDIT]And now just for comparison! See how far we've come since the Jacket was born at Aero:

If anyone dares to follow in my footsteps, DM me and I'll share the approximate ratios I used to make my proprietary balm.
Off to wear my jacket about town now

Afternoon!Looking to wax one of my suede jackets- could you share the mixture?
Ok I should have been more specific- it’s actually a shearling jacket that I wanted to wax.Afternoon!
So, although looking similar, roughout and suede are quite different in fact--suede is split leather, whereas roughout still has its grain, just "on the inside"; a grain leather we can wax, but if we was suede, it loses its nap, can get stiff and crack, it won't breath, etc.
I think the others who know more than me will probably agree.
Good luck!

This is the jacket.Hmmm, could you post a picture? I'm more wary these days of "reckless waxing," and probably would only do it on a regular, grain-out, jacket these days. Still, let's talk about it, see some pics![]()

Very nice
What's this hide called?
It's beautiful. It's the Mustang horse-hide from AA Crack & Son - seems like it was a one-off or rarity that they commissioned, since I haven't seen another natural hide for sale in over a year. Here's the writeup:
"Mustang Horse is a pure vegetable tanned, mid-shine casein wipe over horse side that is full of gnarly scars and marks. Simply tanned and left as a natural crust for carving, embossing, staining or whatever you wish. Artisan leather at its best."

It's stupid, but maybe people here will get it - I spent something like 200 euro to get real brass buttons from Japan, because I also had to buy Leilah the Citron Jeans press, since it's slightly different than other presses available in Europe; unlined, since the way I wear jackets, even my cotton-drill type III lining started to rip after just 3 years, and every lining replacement and re-stitching weakens the leather. Hopefully, this will be my invincible forever jacketIt's beautiful.
