Hello!
I was reading the thread from HATCO and noticed a question about Nutria. I may be totally wrong on this but here it goes.
I was watching one of those Bizzare Food shows with Andrew Zimmer and they were down in Louisiana, in the swamps hunting a rodent called a nutria. This rodent is...
I just ordered this little black herringbone beauty from Hat People on line.

They have some nifty looking caps in their line-up so I decided to get one and see how they are. It should be showing up in the next week or two.
Has anybody...
I know that Armani had created the clothing for The Untouchables, but where could one find the coat the Sean Connery wore as Malone? It looks a lot like a tweed hunting jacket with little or no padding in the soulders. It has a belt back, patch pockets and a yoke over the shoulders on the back...
Since The Quiet Man is one of my favorite John Wayne/John Ford movies I was overjoyed to find this little gem.
I actually stumbled across this one on Google and had seen it was on OFAS. This will be perfect in my office. :)
If you want one of these they may still have some left...
Hello Folks,
Well, after much touting the merrits of the Camptown Fieldmaster I have put in an order for the Metropolitan. This is Ken's grey offering in his lineup of lids. In the near future he will be offering a black or "Noir" model of the Metropolitan. This one will look rather sharp I...
Well folks here is my latest acquisition from OFAS. A Harris Tweed Herringbone blazer. It appears to be from Palm Beach and is skeleton lined or at least partially lined.

I had watched the making of this new series the other day. It looks rather interesting. Based in 1960 at an ad agency. It gives a glimpse into corporate advertising with all of it's dirty little dealings.

I've been trying to find one of these basic knit vest similar to the ones shown below.
Chris Cooper in Seabiscuit (middle)

Kevin Klein in De-Lovely
Now, where can one find a modern day rendition of this classic looking mens...
I got these off of EBAY! today. Hopefully they are as nice as advertised. Do any of you have a pair of these, and what are your thoughts?

I hope these were a good buy. I figure they're a "good enough for now" spectator until I can afford some custom ones. They are Brentano, but I don't know a lot about that company. Maybe one of our resident shoe sxperts could enlighten me.:)...
My cousin sent me this one and it's just too fun not to share. How many of these things do you remember? You'll need sound for this to get the full enjoyment.
Do you remember these?
Cheers!
Dan
:eusa_doh: I missed out on this one. Got outbid, but I though I should share this one because it was such a nice looking lid. I sure would have like to get this one though. It has a very interesting ribbon on it.
Its a basic Royal Stetson made for Byrnie Utz up in Seattle. Do...
Ok, here is a thread for the Dobbs connoisseurs out there.
I just got this one on OFAS. It's a Dobbs Fifth Avenue. It's another one touted as a bowler derby.
Cheers!
Dan
I missed out on the Adam panama fedora this weekend, but I managed to pick up this Resistol. It should fit well with some of my 50's attire at the company BBQ this summer.:)...
Hey gang! I've been doing a search now for a couple of days now on the FLounge for a thread on hat hangers. One of the fine gentlemen here had posted images of a row of wood hat hangers that he had made. These were home built and not a commercial item. I think the wood was cedar but I can't be...
I was following this one from the megar beginnings to the stellar end bid. I must say I wasn't in the least surprised, but "WOW!".:) The only thing that I wonder is the age & pedagree of tis particular Poet.[huh]...
I got this one on OFAS today. They state that "Inside is backwards". It was just bashed backwards. Funny huh? I got this one because Art has a liking for the Portis hats, so I figure that if Art likes these hats they must be a nicely made lid. This one should clean up nicely and re-shape the...
Actually won this one today on OFAS. :)

It appear to be in pretty darn good shape. They advertised it as a 'Stetson Vintage Mens...
Well I got me a fairly pretty one today.:) It's a brand that I have little knowledge of so if anyone here can enlighten me on the pedigree of this hat it would be most appreciated. It is a Dunlap Superior, Browning-King Co. They state that it is from the 20's or 30's, although I'm not totally...
