Like most people on the planet, I've been following this crisis in the US, and today I read that a home-loan defaulter over there can just walk away when the banks foreclose...is this really true!!!! No wonder everybody takes out loans thay can't afford if this is so!
In this country you owe...
I just saw an old Mitchum film called One Minute To Zero set in the Korean War, quite graphic in its use of real footage, and confronts some pretty dark stuff as well, not a bad effort,....but, there's a scene where RAAF Mustangs arrive to give air support to the GI's on the ground, and...
A friend of mine just returned from this town in Victoria, and informs me of a huge vintage clothing market in the old Fletcher Jones Mills, biggest collection of suits and shirts etc he's ever seen, any of our Melbourne brethren seen this? I can't find much on the web about it...
Yes indeed, first I picked up this hard-to-find black jacket for $15, then the dinkum 1945 jungle issue Aussie digger dax for $4, the gods were smiling when I did my rounds this day, people! (not that they'd go together, but still...)
I've been watching several threads about the price of this that or the other hat from various outlets and so forth lately, and it dawned on me that although I've been wearing fedoras for the best part of 30 years, and have at least 2 dozen quality lids, I've NEVER bought one from a Hatter...long...
Came across this in my travels, Open Road Stetson size 60, the inside is not as bad as the flash makes it look, a wash and a rebash would sort it out, it still has the wind trolley, but too big for me, any keen swappers out there?
and hey, that's honest dirt under my nail there, just finished...
20 years ago I had one of these coats stolen, and have never seen another one since, but I got this on EBAY for $70 advertised as a "WW1" coat, no way to my thinking, possibly WW2 Coastwatcher issue from the southern coast, but bloody nice, I slept rough in my old one on some brutal cold nights...
Picked this Redhead hunting jacket up, apparently they're quite collectable over there, nice patches, they're probably worth more than the coat round these parts.
OK I got sucked into paying too much for this on the bay because of the serial number 507 and the photo wasn't totally clear, but this looks like an early 70's hybrid...to go with loon pants at a Bowie/T.Rex concert maybe...too small as well, but you have to take the chance sometimes.
I'm hoping this thread will have some experts here who can tell me the vintage of this ammo(?) belt I picked up at an auction...paid a bit too much I think, but anyway, i thought it had to be pre-vietnam as it's not green.
Couldn't resist, ;) this Resistol 7-1/4 Self-Conforming Roundup still in the box with a couple of easily repaired moth dings for $10, as I said; not really mah thing, but a bloody nice hat.
anybody interested in a black Akubra Bogart in beautiful condition, it's a 57 stretched out from a forgiving 56, and has a real nice line, I'd like something green......

Just picked up this THORNPROOF jacket made in Northern Ireland, a couple of moth dings but in pretty good shape for $4 I thought,
the pockets are interesting though, anybody reckon they can date it from the shape thereof?
Look what I found in one of my old WW2 RAAF books, a buddy-buddy shot of a Yank pilot and a wedgetailed eagle, nice enough detail for all you A2 boyos?
Look what I found, these are at least 40 years old, and some maybe older as they belonged to a friend of my mum who was 80+ when she died, they've never been worn...
as usual I'd rather see if someone here has sumthin worth tradin, as opposed to puttin them on febay
here is an image of the shirt for those interested,
it's a Vintage XL, which is only 48" at the chest but a generous 21.5 inches across the shoulders, which is what just doesn'rt work for me. Which is a pity because I really like the design....and it is of course cotton, in mint condition, if...
