I just caught "All the King's Men" and there are some nice suits in it, but I wondered why they bothered remaking such a cliched melodrama when the real story of Huey Long is so much more fascinating, surely enough years have gone by for a biopic to be done on him?

Further to my annual viewing of this Mitchum classic, it appeared to me that all the good guys wore thin-banded hats in the Open Road style while the baddies had much thicker hatbands. Is this a signifier in the semiotic sense....observations please!
