My Barbour Washed Twill Trooper came! I have never been so happy with a jacket. This jacket is tough, stylish, and so well-tailored. The fit is perfect. It's such a well-designed jacket that I could wear it classically or with a modern twist.
Plus, it is perfect for the field. It has huge...
Daleks are not robots! ;) lol (laughing at my nerdiness.)
Baron, it's not so much badly fitted, excpet by your (and my) aesthetic. For some reason, most modern waistcoats are really high like that with some space between them and the trousers. I've seen this with everyone.
David Tennant is...
Check the lining of a duffle coat. I agree with Flitcraft that Trevor Howard looked awesome in "The Third Man" in one. My Burberry duffle coat is lined with wool, so it's nearly impossible to wear it comfortably over a jacket, though I've tried!
A Golden Era tip for freshening up a home was to mix apples and cinnamon on the stove top. My Grandmother used to do this. It gave the house a wonderful apple pie smell.
Of course, it was also a little disappointing because there was no pie!
Fascinating topic, Twitch. However, considering how awry the previous thread on this topic went in the past, we will have to close it.
I'm leaving it up here so members can PM you and discuss it through messages.
Thanks, HJ
It's a nicely styled hat, from an great American hat company when it was great, and it has a cool name, though not as cool as "Stratoliner," which also came in a really cool box.
My opinion, for what it's worth. :)
Actually, KittyT, just to clarify a bit, almost nothing around here is done arbitrarily. Nearly everything a bartender does is by consensus and consultation with other bartenders.

Be tall and be proud. I have a hat that makes that look short by comparison and I wear it all of the time. In fact, it's in my avatar. You would be surprised how you can grow into a hat like that.
To me, it's nice that there's a 30's style production hat out there.

I'm not sure if you were joking or not, but, here in the US "Blue Laws" were laws that restricted certain behaviors.
For instance, Boston had a blue law on the books that liquor stores could not open on Sundays. And when did they repeal it? About two or three years ago!
Our bars still...
A very interesting and stylish jacket. I am looking forward toward seeing it on you.
Have you given any thought to preserving the leather? If it is dried out, I typically use Pecard leather dressing to put moisture back in without detracting from the essential nature of the leather.
Great...
Jack, this one isn't waxed, it's a safari jacket with a bi-swing back and a tailored fit. It comes out on the 10th and I will be ordering it then.
I was in N Conway this weekend and I stopped in the Orvis outlet, which is nothing less than extraordinary. They truly have some high quality...
Dear Friends,
I think it's more about balance; there are lighter getting-to-know-you threads, which are fun and necessary and fit nicely into the OB, and there are educational and informative threads. The balance of late has tipped in the getting-to-know-you threads' direction, if fact, it is...
